42re front seal Sign In

I had to pull my 4.0 out of the jeep. Left trans in vehicle. Would like to change the front pump seal with the transmission still installed. I know to look for seal wear on the converter hub and bushing wear as well. Just wanted to know if it was possible to do so . I have the seal remover and installer by miller but I believe these are to be used with the pump out of the transmission.

Hello,
The front pump seal can be changed with the pump still in the transmission. Unless there is an issue with the pump bushing, this seal is not common to leak. Gary

Thanks for your response! I may have let the front of trans go to low when pulling the motor letting fluid get past the seal.
