Re: 4WD system not working Sign In

You need to take it to a shop that can access the 4wD ECU with an enhanced scan tool and see if there are any trouble codes being stored. The code(s) will aid in figuring out what is going on. Generic code reader or scan tool can't interface the 4wd ECU.

There may be other codes being stored in the PCM and the ABS controller that can affect the performance of the 4wd system, so those ECUs need to be scanned also. Once all trouble code(s) are retrieved, they can figure out which ECU and subsystem to focus on.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
