Hi, I have an `84, 5 speed, Camero that has clutch problems. The fluid sometimes leaks out of the clutch reservoir - it can go for weeks working fine and then driving 20 miles it will lose it all and I won`t be able to shift at all. If I turn the engine off I can shift it but then when I try to start it the car lurches forward. I have to add fluid and pump it up alot before I am able to shift it again. I have taken it to my mechanic three times and he can`t find the leak. He has replaced the master cylinder and I think the other one but I`m not sure. He tells me he doesn`t know what to do anymore. In fact every time I have taken it to him it hasn`t leaked so that hasn`t helped. Anybody have any ideas what I can do?? I don`t want to get rid of the car. Would changing it to an automatic transmission be an option? Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated! Sadie584

Ok you have hydraulic clutch linkage. Keep it full for now and the leak is usually at the master cylinder which said is new, and there's flex hose and slave cylinder that could make problems. They use DOT 3 brake fluid and it will rinse clean away with rain water as it's not an oil and make it harder to find, T
