1988 Chevrolet 2500 PU 5.7 L with nv3500 transmission I need to know where to put in the transmission fluid. It requires a special fluid and I need to put it in. I also cannot get it into 4th gear. I worked when I left this morning and when I got to where I was going, I got off the interstate and could not shift into 4th. Hopefully once I get fluid in it will work ok.

Typical standard transmission for RWD would look something like this: There most commonly is a check and fill bolt midway up and a drain bolt at the bottom. Again this is generic gearcase fluid or gear oil checking - you would remove (know which one - don't guess) the check/fill bolt while level and should have fluid oil to that level. You would fill it there also till some starts to come out of that hole. Vehicle must be level, correct product used as per owner's manual. Unfortunately I don't think fluid or oil is the issue for not being able to shift this into 4th gear but it should be checked, T
