92 accord linkage

I have a 92 accord with a auto tranny when I try to shift out of park or into park it is very hard to shift. Does anyone have any ideas what to do about it or what is wrong? It also idles very very rough or low when in reverse or when sitting in gear with the brake on and all of the accessories turned on is there one common problem causing this or is it rarity. I have tried to adjust the idle but it did not help. These two things don't seem to be related in any way. The car has the 2.2 liter engine it is a LX and it has had all of the necessary tune-up work(plugs,wires,cap,rotor,module and coil). Any(intelligent) input would be greatly appreciated
