Year of vehicle Make of vehicle Dodge Model of vehicle Dakota Engine size 3.9 Mileage: 150k: Good afternoon i was looking for some insight into trouble shooting a 92 dodge dakota it is a 6cyl auto 3.9. I was driving on the interstate when suddenly i head a shattering noise. My vehicle lost speed but my engine kept running. It can still move if i force it but not much and not fast enough to be road worthy. any help or advice would greatly appreciated, Thank you in advance

Check trans fluid level and color on level ground as per owner's manual - many Mopars are checked in neutral and warmed up but check it. If engine RPMs can go up in gear and is slipping for most any reason it's a disaster for the trans quickly. Noise? If something broke inside it the real repair will be an overhaul especially at miles and age. If done already ages ago it still could go again. Driving it at all can only make it worse, T
