coming from the back side of the transmission, only when going forward, sounds like a clicking noise, like cards on a childs bicycle spokes, car shifts smooth, all gears work, just making noises, any ideas?

Sounds like a bad CV joint that's a "constant velocity joint" and should be much worse when turning and accellerating. They are sold rebuilt as "half shafts" and prices have come down a lot on them over the years but you will need to align the car if in fact that's the trouble. Take a look at the rubber boots -- there are four, two on each side. If they are all split get both shafts replaced. FYI -- they rarely make that clicking noise going straight ahead but could and you may not have much time. Good description by you but you may want to have an aligment tech hear this in person and they could also (or should) be able to replace them and align your car at the same visit. I don't do them myself anymore as I don't have a $50,000 alignment machine and friends do in the biz and some nasty powerful air tools needed for some of this stuff. Of course without witnessing this it's an educated guess that this is not the trans itself, Good luck and let us know what you found, T
