I resently purchased this vehicle. It has 114067 miles on it. I changer out the starter, alternator water pump and thermastat.
I drove it from Florida to Texas about 1000 miles. The heat in Texas was intense and the temp gauge showed a slight increase not much. I stopped for gas and to check the water. The water was fine. I started forward and the car acted slow like it didn't want to go in gear. I could back in reverse with no problem but when I put it into drive it still went slow. I checked the transmission fluid and it was at normal operating range with good color and no burnt smell.
After waiting a while I tried again and it drove normal. I stopped again for gas and it acted up again. I waited then it drove normal. I stopped overnight then drove another 1000 miles back home with no problem. The ride home was rain cooled roads.
My question is, is it the transmission or something more simple? Maybe the driveshaft, some linkage problem? I don't want to spend money if it isn't needed.
