94 Corolla Tranny Problems Sign In

I have a 1994 Toyota Corolla DX 1.8L auto tranny. The guy I bought the car from said the tranny slips from time to time and it could probably be fixed with a transmission flush. When driving it will slip out of gear like its in neutral, if you let off the gas it will slip back in, it downshifts and shifts back up, the speedometer goes crazy. I tried a bottle of bars leak transmission fix and it didnt work. I was reading maybe it could be a bad shift solenoid?

idk much about transmissions but i do know that if you added that leak fix to a tranny that is not leaking you just overfilled your tranny. and you put in a leak stopper wich is going to gum stuff up too. not sure what ur tranny problem is but i can tell you you made it worse when you overfilled the tranny with the stop leak equivalent.

i understand it was to help it stop slipping. but slipping and leaking a completely different. and not sure if this thought process is right but imagine it this way. the proper level of fluid lubricates the transmission for optimum performance. its not too much lubrication and not too little. if you overfill instead of covering maybe the teeth your now covering the whole gear, which in turn adds to more slippage since its being over lubricated.
