98 dodge trany Sign In

I own a 98 dodge dakota with 170k miles annd when the engine warms up over drive stop kicking in and if i am in od it will go shift down if i let off the gas. i was wonder if this could be a simple fix or do i need to start looking for a new trany or even a new truck

First you would need to hook it up to a high-end scan tool that can read transmission module codes. Could have something as simple as a bad solenoid. Then you would need to do line pressure tests to confirm things. Might be the best bet to sing by a trans shop and have them diagnose it, as they have all that and do this every day. If you anted to do the repair yourself you could, you simply be out a diagnostic fee.
