2007 BMW 328XI, 57,000 miles. Just purchased the vehicle, the vehicle wasnt driven for a couple years, (sat in a warehouse). After a couple thousand miles driving the car we started experiencing rough shifting of the transmission. happens at very low speeds soon after accelerating from a stop. Transmission seems to shift fine after your get to higher speeds. It is an automatic transmission. Any help much appreciated.

Which gear changes are you having your harsh shifting? You many need to take it to a transmission repair shop that specializes in European transmissions to see if there are any transmission related trouble codes stored in the transmission or DME ECU.

Re: BMW 328XI Sign In

That is something a specialist is going to have to look at. The reason is that it could be a mechanical or an electrical problem. The transmission shift timing and line pressure are computer controlled. The tech would have to monitor line pressure and transmission datastream information during the shifts to determine if the computer is controlling the transmission correctly.

If the computer is trying to control it correctly, it may be an internal problem in the transmission itself. Not all transmission problems on BMW are going to have the same culprit and you sure don't want to play guessing games because those things aren't cheap.
