Dodge stratus R/t Sign In

first of all i have a 2001 dodge stratus r/t. Last week i went around a corner (slowly) and when i pushed the gas the car accelerated to like 6. I pulled over and stopped my car and when i did it wouldnt move anymore. Its stuck accelerating between 1-2. Also when heat is turned on it accelerated to 1. I know its something with the transmission but we cant figure it out. Any help???

What do you mean by 1, 6, 1-2? Are we playing Sudoku?

Check engine light on?
What size engine?
How is the transmission fluid condition and level?

LOL
Tacometer?

This could be just low fluid due to some form of leakage; transmission fluid doesn’t get used up over time; like what engine oil can at times. If the fluid level is full then you’ll likely be into a fairly large repair.
As for the RPM gage going to 1000rpm when you turn on the heat; that’s normal. The computer that manages the engine can see that you put in a request for heat/air conditioning. This usually puts a bit of load on the engine, so the computer bumps up the idle a bit, too prevent a stalling engine.
