Drive Shaft Repair

I have a 2015 Chevy Traverse AWD. The front CV joint seal/boot on the drive shaft is leaking grease. Is this something that can be repaired or will I have to replace the whole drive shaft? Other than the grease leak the drive shaft is in good condition. Any information on parts & replacement would be helpful.

It's not worth trying to fix it. Axles are cheap now. Your's lost grease so it was operated without sufficient lube which added wear to the joint. If it had enough mileage for the boot to give out, the joint is not far behind.
We used to fix them but the additional labor to disassemble the joint ate up any savings there may have been. Most parts houses don't even carry the boots any more because nobody buys them.
You can usually buy an axle in the $60-$70 range
edit, I just checked Rockauto and the front ones are under $50

also if grease is getting out, water and dirt/sand is getting in. can be confirmed by any grease still in the axle will be grey. reminds me of one time on a motorcycle on a 4-lane freeway a dump truck in front of me dropped his drive shaft. it broke at the support in the center. The DS dropped down and was skidding along the ground till the shaft hit something and jammed the DS right through the differential and I think there is a gallon or gallons of differential oil in there. I rode right through it all. i did not breath or turn my handlebars or brake the tiniest amount. don't ask how this reminded me. I just wanted to tell this story.
