Four Wheel Drive 99 Blazer

Our 1999 Blazer service four wheel drive light is on intermitently. The dealer says it needs an encoder motor. Whats that/ Can a doit yourselfer do the job?

Yes a DIYer can replace the encoder motor. It is bolted to the drivers side of the transmission. It is up highand really tight area to work in, but it is doable. Price the motor and get a picture of it so you can find it before you start to see if you want to attempt it.
