Manual Transmission Sign In
2004 Kia Spectra 5 speed manual transmission. After it runs for a while the clutch becomes extremely mushy or soft and then it will go completely to the floor and not engage at all. Then several hours later, the longest was about 8 hours, it is back to normal and it will start and shift as normal. Any ideas on what this could be?

As per the response to my post, it is like the clutch isn’t even there. You can literally take your hand and smack the clutch pedal with your hand and it would go straight to the floor with zero resistance.

Site has a pro will be by sooner or later. I'm reading a thing for you to correct. The term "Disengage" where you said "engage" don't you mean it's not "DISENGAGING" AS IN SO YOU CAN SHIFT AND STOP IN GEAR? Just clear that up just edit your own or add correction and one of us can delete this request to fix the language, T

almost sounds like air is in the system or maybe a bad clutch master, how is the fluid level for the clutch pedal? Gary

Hello,
Well if it good and then the pedal goes to the floor, air may be entering or trapped in the line, you tried bleeding the clutch? If you pump it up the pedal is ok?
