Standard Transmission progressivley harder to shift Sign In

I recently bought a standard 1993 2 door Ford Explorer. Everything seems fine with it except it gets progressively harder to shift gears, primarily in 1st and 2nd as the car gets warmed up. There is only grinding when I shift into reverse (after cars been running/used for a while). The car shifts fine when the engine is turned off and I can downshift into first and second okay as I am having the problem but I hate to be riding the clutch like this. I dont feel any slipping fyi.
Havent tried anything to fix the problem yet, where should I start?

Is it a hydraulic clutch or mechanical linkage? If hydraulic, check fluid level and bleed clutch system. If mechanical, look for worn pivots or loose linkages. There is a possibility the clutch disc is also worn out. Good luck.
