HAD MY TRANSMISSION FILTER AND OIL CHANGED A MONTH AGO, TWO WEEKS AFTER THAT MY TRANSMISSION WENT OUT IT WOULD NOT GO PAST 2O MPH AND RPM WENT UP TO 4 & 5. HAD TO HAVE TRANSMISSION REBUILT. THE SAME DAY I PICKED UP MY CHEVY AFTER TRANSMISSION WAS REBUILT IT WAS LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID TOOK IT BACK THE NEXT DAY TO MECHANIC. PICKED IT UP A WEEK LATER AND DROVE IT FOR ONLY 4 DAYS AND IT WENT OUT AGAIN ON THE FREEWAY ON RAMP IT JUMPED A GEAR AND RPM'S WENT UP TO 5 BUT WOULD NOT GO MORE THAN 20 MPH SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS STRUGGLING TO EVEN GET TO 20 MPH. NOW MECHANIC IS SAYING IT IS A ELECTRICAL/COMPUTER PROBLEM NOT THE TRANSMISSION THAT HE REBUILT. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT TRANSMISSIONS OR ANYTHING ABOUT TRUCKS SO I DON'T KNOW IF THIS GUY IS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THAT AND THAT I AM A FEMALE NOW I AM OUT $3000.00 AND MY ONLY METHOD OF TRANSPORTATION..I NEED HELP AND ADVICE, PLEASE IF ANYONE HAS ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS OF WHAT IT MIGHT BE?

If you suspect his work might be at fault, take it to a different transmission shop for a diagnosis and see what they come up with. By the way, we don't as a rule in this industry go out of the way to rip people off, and it doesn't matter one bit about you being a women. Most men are car illiterate now as the cars have become much more complex than they were 30 years back. When you got it back from the rebuild and had a leak, what part was leaking? Was it your cooler, the lines to it? If so those parts aren't his fault. Did you check your fluid level? If you're having problems with a transmission that is the first thing you should check.
