Hi I have a 1985 toyota corolla, I have a transmission fluid leak coming from a metal tube located in front of the coolant system. Can i patch this leak? or do i have to replace the tube. Thanks

It sounds like your referring to the trans cooler lines going to the radiator. Yes, you can cut them and splice them together with some rubber fuel line. You just have to be very careful securing the hose to the pipe. It would be ideal to flare the end of the pipe so the hose can't slip off but at bare minimum, you need to use 2 clamps on each connection. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
