I replace the engine in my sons 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse 3.0l. It had a Brad new clutch on the used engine when we bought it stuck it In the car started it and it was like the clutch wasn’t making connection with the flywheel. Long story short I have pull this
Engine six times I have replace the throwout bearing shifting for slave cylinder clutch master cylinder what the system bought a new clutch for it and still can’t figure out why it will not go into clutch will not engage. I have put the transmission in gear and turn it by hand to make sure there was nothing broke internally. The previous engine that we had had before this one had a bad rod knock but we drove it to shop. The only thing we didn’t swap was flywheel because the flywheel looked new.

Oh my! This poor thing has been torn apart with who know what for parts to match I'm not sure where to start except to ask if a drive wheel will turn while in gear suggesting the shaft isn't "splined" in at all or enough it's going to behave like that.

Yikes sport, it's been out 6 times for assorted reasons including another engine was the time to make it all right not piece-meal out for each item you or someone guesses at?

Not sure this thing is worth the trouble about now just maybe chalk it up to a learning experience of what NOT to do,

Sorry for a second post on this same car focus on a topic:
Hydraulic clutch linkage systems:
They are to release clutch otherwise it would stay engaged so was never the issue by design. If all bent parts like this case all bets off what is screwed up locking it "disconnected" is IMO mechanic error not the design of it at all or anything resembling a linkage to any clutch set up,
