Hey guys, I am trying to diagnose a transmission problem I am having. My vehicle (Oldsmobile Aurora 2001) seems to be shifting hard from 1st to 2nd but is smooth in the other gears. I have checked the levels, and used lucas stop-slip, which seemed to have rounded a little of the edge out of the hard ship, but is still noticeably there. It also shifts smoother for a few days after a long trip at interstate speeds. Thanks for the advice

You've pretty much done all that you can on your end. At this point you just need to get it to a trans specialist for examination and diagnosis. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

you more then likley have faulty pressure control solenoids, this is likely the issue. It's about $400 if you only need the valves if the bore is worn it's about double. Like HT said there is not much you can do to diag it or fix it properly. You'll need to take it to a tranny shop/dealer.
