bad transmission problems

 I have GMC 1500 Sierra 1994.. the transmission has been shifting hard for about a month now. I had the transmission flushed out and that made it better till now. This morning I drive it to a customers business, which it drives just fine. I start to leave and the truck would not crank. I could get it to turn on just not start. I then let it sit about 15 minutes, checking all the wires (stuff like that). AFter about 15 minutes it started up fine. I putted the car in drive and it quite again. Again, it took another 15 minutes it get started again. I finally gave up and called a tow truck. I am thinking its the transmission. If anyone could help I would greatly thank you.

The trans shouldn't be the cause of "no cranking" so there's two things going on. Will it take a jump start? Is battery real old, connections ok? Check that stuff out first - get it running and then let's see what's up with the transmission,
