i have a honda accord 1990 i was driving it like normal, but i heard a rare click noise in the engine n as i kept driving all of a sudden something breaks i heard alot of grindin noises, cracking loose metals hiting everywhere inside the engine and the call stalls? the car was goin backyards slowly while i put it on park so i had to quickly pull the Ebrake to stop it! most likely the transmission broke but any ideas? it was good on tranny fluid..

You may have broken an axle or it could have come disengaged from the transmission.

Ahh..Don't you like how you get the critical information after the fact?

?? You said you could push this car in park - hmmm? How did you conclude that?

Hoist the wheel with the new axle with other still on ground. Can you turn that wheel by hand? Shouldn't be able to and if you can where is it slipping -- at trans or somehow unheard of by me anyway at the wheel?

Used is a crap shoot at that age IMO but possibly your only practical choice or a full rebuild which would probably exceed the car's value.

Re-check your work down to everything you touched. Make sure something as silly as the throttle opens fully and if not why,

Transmission may be in the wrong gear when your taking off. You'll have to check the operation of the shift solenoids in the transmission to see if they are operational and they are receiving power from the TCU. In first gear solenoid A should be on and solenoid B should be off. Default (both solenoids off) for that transmission is 4th gear. If the solenoids check out good and are receiving command voltage from TCU, you might as well take that transmission back and get another.

does another flywheel have anything to do with the car running better? because i also installed the used flywheel that came with the used transmission.
would it make a difference if i put in the one i had?
