clutch replacement Sign In

I'm hoping somebody can help with this.
I've gpt a '97 Geo Prizm with the 1.8L engine and a 5 speed manual.
Car has about 125000 miles. I'm the second owner.
The clutch is slipping and has almost no play at the top of the pedal.
I had one garage in Northern NJ tell me it would take about 6 or 7 hours for the labor to replace the clutch.
This sounds like an awful lot to me.
Does it take that many hours?
Anybody living in Northern NJ that can do it for less?
Thanks for any help.
J.

I don't have the labor guide but that is not surprising, the cost will be! You are in an expensive area not unlike where I am and that factors in,

Tom,
Thanks for the unfortunate info.
Enjoy your holiday.
I'm going to look around for a small garage that's a little hungry.
