Hi, I have a 1997 chevy tahoe that I bought in Dec 08. The transmission was just rebuilt in sept 08. It started slipping about a month after I bought it. O.k. it's a 1997 chevy tahoe LT. It has a vortec 350 and it is two wheel drive. I'm not sure exactly which tranny it has in it, but it has the park neutral switch at the tranny end of the cable. ( not sure if that has anything to do with it.) It's worse when It's cold but it's really starting to slip more and more. It's having a hard time even going up simple hills. I've checked the tranny fluid and it's good. I asked the guy at the parts store and he said since it was just rebuilt it won't need a new filter. It won't go in reverse if it's cold at all. It feels like if you are trying to drive with your foot a little bit on the clutch. But it doesn't have a clutch. So I looked under it and the park neutral switch is missing one of the mounting bolts, and it looks like there's a crack in it where the wire harness goes into it. I'm not sure if this would effect it or not. Also when i'm driving like from a stop it feels like something is maybe sticking. Almost like the E brake is on half way. It's driving me crazy, cause I can't afford to have a shop fix it right now and I can't afford for it to break down completely. It's my only vehicle. Since the tranny was just rebuilt and I know it was cause I have the receipt and it looks really clean compared to the rest under there, I'm hoping maybe it will be something simple to fix. If anyone has any ideas please I would much appreciate any help you can give me.

I'm not liking the sounds of this You really should go back to the place that rebuilt it and ask for help with this. Too early IMO for this trouble and a crack in a case (?) isn't a good sign, T
