Hi everyone this is a 2003 Nisan sentra 1.8 engine with automatic transmission, when the gas pedal is depressed the engine RPM goes high but the car goes very slow. we replace the trani fluid and filter, and the color of the fluid was brown instead of pick, we are assuming it's time to get rid of the transmission, what do you suggest thank you and God bless.

Trans slipping and brown fluid. Get it checked but plan on needing a transmission overhaul,

sounds like this car may be starting off in a higher gear like its in failsafe mode, is the check engine light on? any codes present? Gary

thank you for responding, to answer your question there is no check Engine code. planing to replace the trani, do you have any thing to suggest.

If your going with a good used one, check the fluid or drop the pan to see condition of the unit and try to get one with low miles. Gary
