If you already loosened any of the bolts they may be hitting on the block now.

The converter bolts will snag if backed off and then the engine is rotated

Re: transmision removal Sign In

basicly i havent done anything the trans still looks tight havent put a jack to it or moved it unless it dropped a little from removing the lower trans bolts

i reached in there easily to take the nut off one of the converter to flywheel bots got 3 left what am i supposed to put jack under it and level it to get the crank to move to get the other 3 converter bolts? thanks

Are you sure the motor isn't locked up for some other reason?

Re: transmision removal Sign In

its been sitting for awhile ran and the freezeplug went on the way home. i tried putting water in it and it came out and the starter sounded like it was dragging but the battery was low. so i never tried starting it again and decided to replace the freezeplug .BOUGHT IT ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO im on dis ive been taking my time with it cant afford a mech. ive got it ready to move back about 8-10inches and slide the crossmember on the frame just enought remove the flywheel and put in a plug .got the starter loose not sure how to chk it its still hooked up to the wires the serpentine belt seems like its still to tight maybe it wont turn do to that ? can it be moved back from the block enough to get to the other 3 bolts? or hopefully its not locked up i pulled it up the road with my truck when it broke down. its like a 100 degrees out kinda hard to work on right know i sure appreciate your time and ideas

If you can't turn the motor over then you have likely already fried it.

Re: transmision removal Sign In

You don't need a starter. If it can't be turned by hand, it has serious problems and isn't going to run.

I deleted your last post. Please don't bring different cars and different problems into a thread, especially when you already have one for that truck and that issue.
