i have a 1993 ford e150 van with a 5L or 302 v8. I want to know if a 1998 ford e 150 van with a 4.6 Liter motor. if the transmissoon on the 98 ford van would bolt right in to the 93 ford van with the 302 v8. or with just minor modifications?

No it won't. Not only are they different models of transmission, the computer controls between OBD-1 and OBDII are night and day. Its beyond just the different connector ends, the ECM doesn't support the software to communicate with it. Your best bet is to find an identical year trans or to overhaul the one you have. Junkyards have access to a database that shows what years and models will interchange with each other, and it couldn't hurt to ask one to give you a better idea of what years and models would be suitable replacements.
