transmission leaking

I have a 78 Chevy Silverado that is leaking from the dipstick port. I went to tighten it but it is already stripped out. How can I fix this? Any help would be appreciated. :)

OK - Is the dipstick tube broken off and you are fussing with a support bracket bolted to block? Exact trans will help and exactly what's wrong and were leaking as in from a break or what? You said "stripped" out? Meaning worn too big or just how?
I can go hunting but think there are repair tubes in whole with a generic dipstick to fix this stuff. Trouble is YOU (types I've seen) set the dipstick AGAIN for one pint low and the FULL mark by the only way I know is changing the fluid and purposely putting back one pint low then one more for the full mark. It's not that easy to know exact capacity with transmissions with possible oil cooler differences and getting ALL fluid out, converter and all. Keep in mind it's measured when warm too - harder.
If totally missing there are repair things for this. In the mean time you are losing oil and can't know how much so either vehicle is not to be used or something oil tolerant to patch leak very short term till fixed and still know you have enough oil and not too much!
Best bet I would choose is hunting down exact replacement as needed new if possible, used if exact and correct one. This may have an "O" ring right where it goes in leaking which can be replaced IF THAT'S ALL THAT REALLY NEEDS TO STOP IT FROM LEAKING?
