transmission question Sign In

I have a 2004 F-150 Heritage. The transmission went out so I purchased a used one online. After installing it I am getting a speed sensor error. So I replaced it rebooted the computer checked the wiring. But now I drive it shifts fine up to 60 MPH. but after 100 yards it drops into first gear.
When I took out the old transmission a long rubber tube connected to a steel tube and back to rubber fell out of engine area. So was unable to figure out what and where that tube goes and what it does?

Re: transmission question Sign In

Hello,
Are you talking about a cooler line, they are usually metal and rubber. So if it drops back down to first, what code are you getting? P0720?

Everything i find it says its a vent tube. But what puzzles me such and expensive rubber to steel part for just a vent tube!
Error code is PO780 Says speed sensor but I have tried 2 other ones and no change

Re: transmission question Sign In

Oops my bad it is PO720 speed sensor.
Is there a speed sensor inside the transmission itself. There are a lot of wires in that harness
