Have a strange noise coming from the clutch of my 2007 kia rio..I'm getting noises when i depress.the clutch, which i assume is the throwout bearing, and now I'm getting a sound when I'm in gear and moving that sounds like a street sweeper...the plates barely touching? Would i be ok just replacing the throwout, or should i do the whole clutch assembly?

Why on earth would you do all the work of removing the transmission and not replace the clutch? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

It's the cost, really....if i can get away with just buying the throwout bearing, I'll save over a hundred bucks.

And waste all that labor if the clutch craps out next month. That's penny smart and dollar foolish. Unless you already changed the clutch and pressure plate recently, you need to do it all at once ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
