Ford quick disconnect Sign In

For some that have struggled with those quick disconnectors watch this video on U-TUBE -- This person makes a tool out of a small clamp and it actually works better than the tools your suppose to use--I have struggled for hours trying to release those connectors and with his method I got one to release in seconds -- the video is called Substitute for Ford quick connect-disconnect tool

Yes some styles work better than others , which is why I recommended the billet aluminum style.

Re: Ford quick disconnect Sign In

Mine look like this......

If again I'd go for better stuff than those as RT suggested and like most anything you get what you pay for. These shown are a pest but can work if the connection is in good shape. Some take cans of PB and WD-40 and a lot of bad language. The damn things were made for fast assembly like a lot of crap with no care if they cause you monster headaches later. Such is lifeCrazy -- T

Re: Ford quick disconnect Sign In

Hasn't happened yet but there's always a first. I think you need to buy the whole hose or item but not sure on that. Spring is locked in the pressed metal so not so sure you could replace it separately.

Lube this things with even plain WD-40 and they will cooperate later. Same bull with flare nuts wherever and brake lines, fuel lines - grease them up now so they work or waste 1/2 a weekend on some stupid fitting somewhere.

I'm in a rust belt and they can be impossible in two years. I want to choke the next automotive engineer who thought that stuff was so smart!

Re: Ford quick disconnect Sign In

You may have to buy a small assortment but they are readily available.
