Water in Tail Light Sign In

My tail light keeps filling up with water. I have taken it off and cannot find any visible cracks. What might be causing this and how can I fix it? 01 Pontiac Grand Prix.

Re: Water in Tail Light Sign In

The assembly has to have a crack or bad seal somewhere. there really isn't any other way for it to get in. A new light is the only way to fix it right but many times we just drill a very small hole (1/16") at the lowermost point of the lens for it to continuously drain.

Gigirl, one thing to add. When you get it apart, have the socket and wiring inspected for corrosion. Any signs and you should have that fixed with the lens or you will have problems down the road. Water, air, and copper make a bad combination.
