help removing broken bolt Sign In

I was changing the thermostat on ford f150 and the bolt that holds the thermostat housing on broke off flush with the manifold. i started to drill the bolt so i could use an easy out and the drill bit broke off in the bolt. now i cant get the drill bit out or drill into it. please help. Im desperate.

You've probably done enough damage already and you should give this to a professional. He first has to find a way to get the extractor out because it is hardened steel and cannot be drilled. After that he has to somehow repair the alignment of the hole and install a heli-coil.

Other than that, you are buying a new manifold.

Spot on HT - OP send this out. You couldn't cause more of headache then breaking an easy out off too in the thing! Still could be real trouble or lot of time depending on what engine this is,
