replacing speedometer what about mileage Sign In

I have a 1977 Ford Thunderbird and I am having to replace the gauge cluster. The speedometer in it now says 50,000 miles and the replacment says 70,000 miles. Is there anything I can do about this? Will it affect the price if I want to sell it?
Thanks Judy

There is a way to clock it but you won't get any instructions here.
You could always swap the old speedo into the new cluster.

With HT on that as well - that's "clocking the odometer" and not going to discuss how so suggest leave it as it reads. Those years odometer only went to 100,000 and back to zero. So what's the real mileage anyway? If this was a real gem with 50K original it shouldn't need a new cluster at all in whole. You can fix just a gauge or part to it and leave original unit with odo in it.

Truth is it was probably messed with before that screwed it up to begin with,
