So my buddy's birthday just passed and I figure I owe him one so I was thinking of doing something for him as a present. A few months ago, some Tow company or porkers stuck a warning sign on his tinted driver side window. Its been there forever and its clear to me he is struggling to get it off. I figure I get it off because it would piss me off if someone did that to my car. Its mind-numbing and annoying.

I don't want to strip his tint or anything so I was wondering what is the best way to remove these adhesive stickers without ruining someone's car? Anyone got advice? Thanks.

Take a hard look at it. Tint film should be on the inside not outside.

Other: Side windows are "tempered*" glass so some heat from a plain/weaker hair blow dryer and while wet and one edge razor on glass only will probably do.

Again - tint would have to be on the inside or built into glass not allowed where I am for front seat glass at all,

* Tempered means it would break in small bits not crack like a windshield and is softer than steel and will scratch...........

Ok Thats good to know. Would any of the solvents like glue-gone etc work? I was worried about his tint but if its on the inside than solvents are not a worry then..

I think the product you are thinking of is called "GOO-GONE" which is probably fine.

Before I steer you the wrong way check the dang glass. Put window down and you should feel or see the edge of the tint film. It is supposed to be on the inside because it's a plastic not type of glass at all and would get all foggy and scratched in no time if not. Double check.

Already said side glass and rear is "Tempered" and says so etched in almost all glass. It breaks like pebbles instead of sharp long pieces on purpose. That type of glass is softer than regular glass which again is why I said use a WET (water or soapy water) one edge razor like you might if painting a window in a house type thing. Being wet the razor shouldn't scratch the glass.

Test if you want a strong solvent maybe carburetor cleaner but don't get any on anything but glass. Weaker and more harmless is plain WD-40 is also a cleaner "usually" harmless to plastics, most rubber and other things and will clean off with ordinary glass cleaner like brand name Windex.

That should be it. If harder use a hair dryer as said but watch out as one area of any glass if hot or too cold you can bust glass without touching it,

Another vote for Goo Gone. You can also use wd40 to remove the sticker.
