question on oil changes for a 1992 Nissan 300ZX, summer car Sign In

Just bought myself an excellent condition 1992 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo. Car has always been garaged and it shows. Has ~96,000 miles on it.

Prior owner used Mobil 1 10W30 synthetic. Says he changed it last this spring and drove ~2000 miles per year on average (summer only).

I plan on doing the same - keeping it in the garage, only driving it during nice weather. Although I might take it out on a rare nice day during the off-season (I'm in Massachusetts), it'll mostly stay in the garage during the off-season. I figure about the same mileage-wise - I'll probably put only ~2000-3000 miles on it per year. However, I will be sure to start and run it peridically while garaged.

Trying to decide what to do for oil changes.

I'm planning on going with Mobil 1 10w30 High Mileage and an OEM filter:

I will definitely be changing the oil in the spring. However, I'm wondering if I should be changing it once more towards end of summer or fall before garaging it for the winter.

Any opinions on that?

From MA too and store a car once then salt the roads. Another just move that is off road and do use Mobil 1 and regular vs that high mileage as I don't think it matters but if longer storage do it first.

Best to drive it once in a while till fully warmed up which changes spot tires sit on helps. If in a driveway w/o salt it's still ok to drive it if you have room.

As many places never know what a Winter will give us but either store it for long term or use it sometimes and don't forget some marine grade fuel stabilizer if it ends up many months.

Dry storage is fairly easy on the cars. If damp definitely run it. I don't think cold matters or hasn't but for years my stored cars didn't see the freezing mark. Good luck,
