i have a 1998 contour and when you turn it on it idols fine, but as soon as you hit the gas it bogs down like it is going to die. i have cheanged the spark plugs and i have fixed the exhaust so the back pressue is ok and so are the spark plugs. also can someone please tell me how many o2 sensors are really on this car i have been told 2,3,and 4

need to know which engine you have to give specs. In the meantime, when did you last change the fuel filter? It needs to go if you haven't done it yet. Then if the problem persists check fuel pressure. Position the gauge so you can see it when you hit the gas and see if it drops off. You say you did the plugs but what about the wires? They have no more of an infinite life than the plugs do. It may be overkill to some, but when I order plugs I always order wires. I've never had complications from that, but I've had complications when I didn't.
