when was the last time it saw a tuneup? Could be as simple as plugs and wires too worn down to spark right

audra - Quote">>when it gets cold it wont start<<"

I need help with that line? If it won't start cold, (as in won't run at all?) how can you know how it would start warm?

Well, my dad thinks it starts better when its warmer out side, me i think it just starts when it wants too. you can go out there and crank it over and it will start 10 mins later you can go to start it and it wont crank over at all.
And all the normal up keep is been done on it when its suppost to my dad is a diesel mechanic not that he knows every thing but hes pretty good and he has some friends that have expensive computers he hooked it up to and said it was the ignition well we put a new one in. didnt help we can figure out he has look at all the electric conectors and made sure there not coroded and all that spark plugs are good its not that simple of a problem.

Hi again,

Changed the subject line to the specific problem you mentioned now. I can change it back if you don't agree with that.

You said maintenance is up to date - good. Hard starts cold suggest low fuel delivery, perhaps fuel pressure is on the low side and some tests should be done.

Note: Don't crank or try too hard or you'll end up needing a starter motor too and that isn't part of the issue as I see it so far.

If this will dependable be difficult when cold priming the throttle body with starting fluid, reassemble flame arresting parts, and if it cranks right up fast would indicate a lack of proper fuel delivery.

If so or to do anyway: Check fuel pressure, check CTS (coolant temperature sensor) and get code readings! Several parts outlets will do a basic code reading for you for free but just report what they say at first not buy a list of parts yet.

Report what you find and we can go from there,

T
