2011 ford Ranger 2.2 front crankshaft Seal fitment

Hie guys.
Please assist me with information regarding the fitting in of the front crankshaft Seal. I need to know if the plastic round plate which comes with the seal must come out once I fit the seal or it must remain permanent on there. Thank you for your advice.

I don't see any reference to any plastic plate.
