Vehicle is a 2017 Ford Explorer

Recently I had a large buck run into the operator side of my Ford Explorer. The deer's head hit right in front of the steering wheel smashing in the window. Snapped his neck and his body swung around smashing in the driver side window, door, and rear door. No mechanical damage to the engine or anything else.

I had the auto body work conducted with a dealership which is right down the road from my house. They came across an issue where the air bag did not deploy on the passenger side. Air bags fully deployed on driver side. They had a fault on the passenger side air bags, so they shipped the SUV to the Ford dealership where I had purchased it.

I was told that there was going to be an additional $2,500 charges to fix this issue. The insurance bill was already over $15,000 for all the auto body work. I started to wonder if it was a faulty air bag, shouldn't it be covered under warranty?

So I called the service manager and asked. At first I sort of got the run around with a bunch of fancy talk, but when I asked why my vehicle was there and what they were doing with it? He replied that he had to talk with the technician who was working on it and would call me back.

The next day, he called and told me that there was a fault with one of the air bags which he would charge to the vehicle warranty, but the front dash air bag he said didn't have a fault and he thinks that this was due to the accident damaging it. This air bag would be fixed and charged to the insurance company. Is this possible?

My first question would be why do you even care? You are not being charged either way.

We can't know without inspecting the car what damaged what. They have the benefit of looking at the module records and vehicle damage.
