Charging Battery Sign In

I have a 1995 Mitsubishi Expo with a 1-year old battery. I only drive it 2 months a year, because I live in a foreign country 10 months a year. If I disconnect the battery, have a friend charge it once a month and reconnect it when I return, will it hold enough charge to drive?

Re: Charging Battery Sign In

Long term storage for this: Yes. I suggest first get an automatic, floating, battery "Maintainer" that specifically claims to come ON and shut OFF by itself must also be adapted or already for use for your power supply to where it's garaged.
Just that is fine for keeping a battery perfectly good that long. I store many myself just do all things we know of. Battery probably has no problem being disconnected unless this vehicle is equipped with something more than most likely original equipment like an antitheft device or something added on to disable it when it senses no power thru the thing.

Tons more: Know your fuel and how to preserve it or buy specific fuel already to let stand that long. It's all perishable that's pushing it. Tires will NOT like sitting in one position either.

So yes you can but prepare all of it. Battery if known good now should do just fine just don't forget all the rest. New oil change also suggested right before long lack of use.

Look for that item and can't know where this vehicle is stored the power source you'd be using you should already know,

Re: Charging Battery Sign In

Tom covered a lot of good points here.

My advice would be to buy the battery maintainer and have your buddy come over and drive it a couple miles once a month.

Re: Charging Battery Sign In

Said that in quotes. What I can't know if it's so easy to get one if, repeat if, this car is in a country where 220V AC volts is for use not the 110 of I think only US, Canada and MX? Two round plugs in the wall outlets. Who makes one ready or each item be thru an adaptor? If you move or travel you would already know this and have all the stuff? I have tons of the maintainers for generator, tractor, all stored vehicles on always. One failed so far isn't in good range when in "float" is staying over 15V DC is just loused up.

Black and Decker makes a water and shock proof one you could drop it for about $30US not crazy about wet and these things. For a garaged battery in or out of the vehicle or more to think about,
