Hello everyone, i just have a quick question to ask anyone who has worked at a dealership or small garage. I just got a certificate from a course i took to become an entry level tech, i was just wondering what is everyones experience with drug tests. Do alot of garages drug test people? Or do they only ask for a drug test if you seem to not be doing your job well? Thanks for your time

If it is a reputable sho[p, you will probably have to pass a drug screening. Around here, they also randomly drug test everyone, and if they think probable cause, they may test someone quite often. So if you do drugs, it might be hard to get a job in a quality shop or dealership. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds

I guess you prefer the wild west where there are no laws and people just take whatever they want and kill whomever they choose. Grow up! Nobody wants a stoned junky working on their car. Employers don't need that risk either. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

LMAO! All i have to say is...ITS A GOOD THING WE DO HAVE LAWS..... Hopefully it will keep this guy from working on someones car. I agree Sidom,he needs to worry about better things than that. Dealerships i worked at always, always did a drug test before hiring and would sometimes do a random check, especially if they had suspicions. Lost a good tech that way, failed drug test, they had to fire him.
