do you guys get the feeling someone kicked your dog when the op does not follow up? like you spent time to try and help some poor soul out, and do your good deed for the day. then it doesnt even get acknowledged.

It's nice when folks follow up with a problem solved or are done but most don't. It just serves to leave those threads hanging for folks surfing for a solution to a similar problem. This thread separated as folks who are still on watch all get a mailbox full if stray posts come even years later so it's on it's own now as YOURS, T

Moved this thread to the appropriate section. Doesn't bother me that OPs sometimes don't respond. Sometimes the OP may post their question(s) in other forums. I call it fishing. If they take the bite, you probably are providing them with an answer they like. The great part is when you catch and reel one into your boat ( solving their issue). That is a good feeling knowing you were able help solve their issue and make life a little easier. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

A lot poster don't come back and close their threads.........It would be nice if they did, you'd get the end of the story and it would make the threads more valuable......There are so many old threads people come into with the classic "Did you ever solve your problem?". There are a lot of people using the search feature and a fix could very easily help them out. But it is what it is......Most folks are just looking to fix their problem themselves and once they have the fix or realize it's beyond them...That's it....They don't come back until they have another problem and start a new thread, with a new problem..... It doesn't bother me but some threads it would be nice to know if they fixed it or not.... There is old thread in the tranny section you may find with the search search feature.....A tranny shop was trying to sell him a new transmission and it turned out to be a shift solenoid....He came back & left a very detail post on fixing the issue and help a few people out that used the search feature....
