What would you expect to be a typical price for labor and parts (in Los Angeles) to replace the left front wheel bearings on a 2005 Honda Civic? I had the right front bearings replaced last year for $144 labor (1.6 hours) + $120 parts. And is there any other work required afterwards such as alignment?

The left front won't be any different from the right front. A wheel alignment is always recommended but not necessarily required. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Last time it took them 3 hours to have the part delivered. I'm thinking of ordering it myself. Does this look like a good brand? link deleted .................. not allowed

Supplying your own parts may not be a benefit. At most shops you leave with no warranty when you do that.

Just to let you know that most shops won't honor the warranty on labor if the part you bought is defective. This means if the bearing fails, you have to pay labor again. They might also jack up the labor price to offset the money they lost in parts if they allow you to use your own parts. 3 hours is typical. Sometimes we don't get parts for days. Did you sit and wait? It would be a lot better to drop the car off for the day or until they call you to tell you it is finished. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

I think what I'll do is pay in advance for them to order the part. I'm virtually sure it's the right front bearing.
