Quick question Sign In

I have a 02 f150 and I'm just curious on how I could get about 2 inches of overall lift on it, I've been looking around and see people cracking their torsion bars or putting keys on and I'm just curious on what people think and how about that can be for your truck, it's my daily driver I do some hauling during the summer nothing crazy, the truck is still mostly all stock, I'm not looking to spend a lot. I'm really just wondering if there is a way to get about 2 inches of lift without causing to much stress on other parts, I've read good and bad things about most easy ways to get that little lift

Best move is NOT doing that IMO - others sure do and will be by with their thoughts.
Just know for 2 stupid inches lift how much stuff is no longer going to fit, work as designed, cost a fortune on top for what?
Things including, alignment issues, wiring, brake and fuel lines, linkages to trans and engine and dozens more too much to list.

Why just 2"? For that you could just get air shock absorbers I think but might "top out" driving it meaning always finding shocks at full limit of extension.

If nothing else there should be full engineered kits for every detail if you look - all item that will need to be changed or adjusted.
Guess I'm the wrong one to ask about altering a vehicle,

Re: Quick question Sign In

I was only looking for about 2 because I don't want to spend all the money for a full blow lift kit, it was just an idea I was having to do but I was unsure of it

Re: Quick question Sign In

If fine now you know you are asking for an expense if done well.
It's possible that there's a listed, proper alternate tire size that would get you much of that but must be known so it can be aligned for a new height and able to. It might not be the full 2" you seek?
My problem with this fun that's popular is it's also just asking for fast wearing tires if nothing else at all.
IDK as I wouldn't do it but still think you are up for a frame off change out of all body to frame bushings then deal with all the things that need extra length to work in range it would then ride at. Wheels and tires don't change all that but if you went nuts off suggested limits they may rub when turning.
My thoughts come from how much it takes to just plain care for now an older vehicle to be it's best as intended and not add to headaches you don't have now so makes no sense to me. An opinion - that's all.
Try if you insist on some YouTube jobs like you are thinking that aren't just short clips but a longer version of what was done to achieve just what you are looking to do before you decide but trust the show isn't selling you all the junk to do it either as the parts makers don't care if you hate it after it's done or cause you fits and headaches.

Not to spoil good fun at all. I just think there's more to think about for even this than you may realize. If this truck isn't a really nice rust free start you are really in for troubles IMO,

save the money - always leave it stock for dependability.
