Hi my car has just gone in for its second service but I think the garage it trying to rip me off. They called to say that I needed new break pads and break fluid and we're trying to charge almost £400. I bought this car brand new so very much doubt these jobs need doing. Because I said no to the work the garage will now not stamp my log book. What do I do?

Hi, ask the garage to give you written report of the issues. You have the right to refuse any jobs if you do not feel the need for the job is genuine. Stamping the book( if available )
is done with as little as Oil and Oil filter are replaced, hence they have no rights to decline

Also to add, have someone you know who is knowledgeable to go with you to the shop and have them show you what they found wrong. Don't be afraid to ask for them to show you on your vehicle what is going on. Most of the time you being shown what is wrong by the mechanic answers a lot of questions.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
