Kia, 2014 Optima, 2.4L

I haven't seen the car yet but I've been online checking out how to jack this car. The owners manual describes how to change a tire... where the jack is placed but there seems to be a controversy over where, if you even can, place jack stands.

I will be changing all rotors and pads.

Anyone have a manual that tells you were to place them?

You can place them anywhere that is strong enough to support the vehicle.

You can place them under the pinch welds of the rocker panels, under the unibody frame or under the controls arms if they are flat enough not to kick the jacks out.

"All rotors and pads" With that be sure or find a level spot with concrete (best) and 4 jack stands I would guess 1 jack? Better if two.
Notches at the pinch welds HT just mentioned for hoisting then find strong areas (need to just know this big time) items like control arms.

Try for one end of car then on to the other rather than side to side.
Universal concepts for unit body construction.
* Do not open car doors when doing this!
*Check that the car is solidly held secure if it's going to fail (don't allow at all costs) fail before you start work.
No guessing make sure it's right and still avoid getting under it,

Yup - one wheel at a time.

One thing I've noticed about these 'new' cars is that I'm afraid to put the jack on anything and windup placing wood between the 'saddle' and the car jack point. Everything seems so light weight - not like my van.
