water pipe condensation marks on car

Heya, all! Glad I found you. I'm in the Northeast U.S. My problem is that I rent an a guy inside garage space, in my building. The car was parked there while the guy was out of town, and when he comes back he finds stains from the water pipe running over his car. These are pipe sprinklers in case of fire. At first, I thought it was leaking from the pipe, perhaps lime, and I asked the Super, but when he looked at it, there were no leakages, so it seemed to have been condensation from the pipe, coming down from all the snow melting. All the unusual weather. Who thought this would have happened? Now the owner of the car wants his car repaired, i.e. the spots on the car roof removed. Since I rented the space to him, I am responsible for the fix up. So, would anyone tell me is there any product in the market that can remove the spots on the roof of the car, or does it have to be a repaint job? The insurance policy I have does not cover these type of repairs, because well, no one even thought of this kind of problem, and so included it. So, would anyone tell me, give me an idea, of a repair kit or an idea of what the garage job would cost? If, this is going to be a re-paint job, what would be the estimate of the job? Thanks, guys.

A stain such as this should not have gone past the clear coat . I would take the car to a professional auto detail shop . They should be able to buff the stain out using a product called DIAMOND BRITE compound or similar. Just a suggestion. Before renting out your parking space again I would have a contract made that states "NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES" and have future renters sign it. LIFE'S SHORT GO FISH
