A "90 Accord with 200K with a broken frame? Sounds like a couple hundred bucks as scrap.

You might get lucky enough to get maybe a hundred over going scrap price to someone who has the same car and needs a parts car. Try putting it on Craigslist and see what you get. Most everyone will offer scrap price and as HT said, thats about what its worth at this point. Once it rusts out that much its a goner. You could try pulling the engine and trans to sell seperately. You could cut off the cat and radiator as they buy those individually at the scrapyard for more than the scrap metal price of the car. What matters is how much work you would be willing to put into getting the few extra bucks out of it.

If it was a man it could go drink in a bar. Its got over 200k on it and not a lot of life left. Its not in the best shape since it was able to snap its main crossmember and even the trans is just a junkyard unit. Sorry man, you don't have much to sell. I'm a tech and I bought a 92 Civic with 145k for $120 because it snapped the ball joint and CV. Paid an extra $30 to the girl because she had just gassed it up. But nobody is going to give you anywhere close to what you paid for it unless they are a complete retard.

It snapped from corrosion. I wouldn't try to weld it, it would just snap again. You could call a salvage yard and get one that hasn't been basted in salt for 20 years and its not hard to put in. Simple hand tools and a floor jack with a pair of stands will suffice. Easy driveway job.

By the way, congrats to your neighbor but thats not a typical thing. Cars don't usually last that long and still be reliable. There's people that have been married for 60 years too. I've been through 2 ex wives at 30. Cars aren't any different then women. They both drain your wallet, they both drive you nuts, you're always eyeing up the one your neighbor has, and you're never happy with the one you have. But women had the intake mounted too close to the exhaust and a car doesn't care if you hop inside another car.

So I vote for the car.

Sure, that makes perfect sense........ Spend $500 in repairs so someone will pay $200 more for the car.

It's scrap

Scrap yards/places are buyers! Better yet there's no implied law that a single screw on the thing is useful as a screw. Locally, places fight over paying the highest price offered, include picking up vehicles but pay more if you can deliver it. Shop for the best price offered. Cutting your losses is a way to save $$,
