hi my name is jay. i have a 1995 blazer 4x4 and the fuel gauge was stuck on full, quarter, now empty can someone please let me know what i have to check or replace

Jay; Almost always, it's the fuel tank sending unit that takes a dump. It is possible, but unlikely, that it's the guage itself. In most cases on GMs, you can replace just the sending unit, but must remove the fuel tank to do so. Check with your local GM dealer to see if the sending unit is sold seperately. You can verify that it is the sending unit with some diagnostics, but you'll need a wiring schematic. Once you get the tank out, you can "sweep" the sending unit while watching an ohmeter to make darned sure that it is bad. Loren SW Washington
